A former illustrator, Mike runs a struggling comic shop in suburban Las Vegas. Disillusioned by his life at middle age, his dreams seemingly long behind him, he struggles with alcohol abuse. When a young customer, Brandon, moves to town and takes interest in his shop and illustrating skills, the two form an unlikely friendship that leads Mike back toward his dreams with Brandon hoping to follow.
